5 Ways to Beat the Back To Work Blues

Christmas and New Years has come and gone, we’re all back at work and the credit card bills are rolling in…the Back to Work Blues have begun. But don’t despair! MORE FM have the best tips to stay on top of things, beat those blues and stay perky and chirpy.

  • Take Lunch Breaks! – its all too easy to stay sat at your desk through lunch, trawling through your To-Do-List but this is a sure fire way to add to your work blues. Instead, get out and go for a walk or meet a friend for coffee.

  • Have a Mini Break – whether it’s a camping trip by the beach, a long weekend at the bach or a day trip to Queenstown, having a mini break gives you something to look forward to and reminds you of your summer holiday. Plus its super relaxing.

  • Bring Back Date Night – whether you are single or coupled, bring back date night! Having a night out with your loved one (or the one you want to make your loved one!) will take the focus off the work blues and bring a bit of romance into your life…what could make you feel better than that?

  • Get Outside – we all hate being stuck inside the office on a sunny day so get outside as much as you can. Daylight and sunlight has been medically proven to improve your mood, even if it is a dull day, do get as much of it as you can.

  • Write A List – write a list of all your goals, hopes, dreams and aspirations for 2010 and put it somewhere you see it everyday. Having a list like this will keep you focused on what you want for yourself and keep you striving to achieve your goals.

A great way to beat the blues, anytime, is to get your hands on a Hot Irishman! Why not get one for Valentine's Day? Or a cool Irishman?
