Coastguard Education Courses
The Rotorua Lakes Coastguard are running a number of 'boating education courses' in 2010. These include 'NZ Day Skipper' for basic boating knowledge, charts, buoys etc... 'NZ Boat Master' which is more indepth...and also a 'Marine VHF Radio Operators Qualification'. All courses are held in the Water Sports centre at the Lakefront. Red Puppy Appeal
Thousands of volunteers from across the country are desperately needed for the Red Puppy Appeal this month, Friday 26th March to Sunday 28th March. During the appeal, the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB) aims to raise more than $1 million to fund its Guide Dog Services with the help of volunteer street collectors. SH Indoor Bowls
The Selwyn Heights Indoor Bowls Club commences its 2010 season on Monday February 8th at 7.30pm at the Selwyn Primary School hall on Old Quarry Road.Anyone interested in taking up the game of indoor bowls is most welcome to come along. Trout Fly Series
LAKE CITY ATHLETIC CLUB has a summer run/jog/walk series held every second Thursday over the same 3km or 5.4 km flat course
The next event will be held on Thursday 4th Feb (It will be held in all weather conditions)
Rego's take place at the Lake City Club rooms, Neil Hunt Park at 5.45 pm with the start at 6.15pm
