Kapiti Women's Refuge

The Kapiti Women’s Refuge is an organisation available for women and children who experience domestic violence. They have a 24-hour Crisis Line (029) 297-2595 and a Safe House to accommodate women and children in danger. They are located on Level 1 in Coastlands and are open 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.

Visit the Tramway Museum

The Tramway Museum is an affordable family outing where you can view trams and tramway memorabilia. Trams run every weekend and public holiday at MacKays Crossing, Paekakariki.



Check out the Spring Art Exhibition

The Horowhenua Art Society has their spring art Exhibition on from Tuesday 17th August till 4th September. The exhibition is on in the old copycat shop 260 Oxford St Levin. The exhibition is open from 10 till 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Join the Levin Camera Club

Every forth Weds of the Month the Levin Camera Club meet at the Methodist church Hall in Kent St Levin at 7.30pm. They have workshops, and learn all the latest tips on photography. New members are very much welcome. For more info phone Nick Clark on 368 9046.

THE 'LIVE INSPIRED' JOURNEY

Lisa Du Fall is bringing together her passion for motorsport and children to make a difference in the lives of as many people as possible. She will be flying to bottom of the South Island in November 2010 and making her way to Cape Reinga in 100 or more creative ways of transport.

The journey will raise money toward a 'dream fund' for children who are sick, disabled or have special needs. Lisa endeavours to raise $15,000 which amounts to a year’s grant for three children.
