"The Arthritis Annual Appeal this year will focus again on the difficulties that many people with arthritis are faced with everyday. If it affected you -could you handle it?
The Appeal will run Tuesday 21st until Tuesday 28th September with the National Street Collection Day on Friday 24th September.

Taupo Red Cross needs peole with vehicles, spare time and a kindly disposition, to deliver Meals on Wheels to the many elderly and disabled people of Taupo, who depend upon this service.

Meet the Candidates
Taupo Toastmasters together with the Rotory Club of Taupo are arranging a public meeting of the local body candidates of the upcoming elections.
This meeting will take place in the Senior Citizens Hall on Thursday 16th September at 7.15pm for 7.30pm.
Admission by gold coin.
Prepared questions may be submitted at the door.

AGE CONCERN BOOK FAIR
Age Concern Taupos Annual Bookfair is being held at the Great Lake Centre on the 29th of September.
They are looking for books in good condition, (no magazines please).
This is their only local fundraising event of the year. Please phone 377 0100 if you have any books for the fair and arrangements will be made to have them collected or you may leave books at the Great Lake Centre.
THE 'LIVE INSPIRED' JOURNEY
Lisa Du Fall is bringing together her passion for motorsport and children to make a difference in the lives of as many people as possible. She will be flying to bottom of the South Island in November 2010 and making her way to Cape Reinga in 100 or more creative ways of transport.
The journey will raise money toward a 'dream fund' for children who are sick, disabled or have special needs. Lisa endeavours to raise $15,000 which amounts to a year’s grant for three children.

Riding For The Disabled
Riding For The Disabled has moved to their new premises now at 164 Poihipi Road. They have approx 60 volunters and the same amount of riders.
They operate 3 mornings per week, Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 till noon. New volunters can phone Riding For The Disabled to find out more about helping as new volunters are always welcome. RDA is a fun caring environment. No prior knowledge is required. "Taupo area has a free Breastfeeding Peer Counsellor service that pregnant women wanting to breastfeed and breastfeeding mothers can access. We provide information, encouragement and support for pregnant women wanting to breastfeed and breastfeeding mothers in our community. Coastguard Lake Taupo
Coastguard Lake Taupo has a great reason to join their Unit. Coastguard members are entitled to free break down tows on Lake Taupo. All Lake Users should note that the Police 111 emergency call out service is to save people, not their property. Call outs could result in expensive towing costs. Annual membership is only $60. Taupo-nui-a-tia College 50th Reunion
Taupo-nui-a-tia College 50th Reunion - Labour Weekend - 22nd & 23rd October 2010
Plans are well underway and registrations are open for the 50th reunion in labour weekend this year. The programme for Friday evening is 5.00pm registration at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College, followed by a Nostalgia Night with nibbles and drinks.
Saturday's programme will start at 12.00pm with the Official opening/Powhiri at the school followed by Hangi lunch, then onto the Taupo-nui-a-Tia College tour and photos. At 6.00pm the evening begins with concert entertainment by current pupils of Taupo-nui-a-tia college, followed by an evening of catching up with friends and family a continuous supper and dancing the night away with a live band.
