The likes of Robbie Williams, Jessie J and Rita Ora have banded together to sing Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', to raise money for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy.

Five bodies have been formally identified, while 74 others are missing and presumed dead after the huge blaze in the 24-storey apartment block, which rocked Britain and the world.

Music mogul Simon Cowell announced on Friday (NZ time) that he was hoping to bring together some of Britain's biggest musical acts to record the song, after watching some of the "heartbreaking" footage of the tragedy.

"All donations made here will be used by The London Community Foundation to help those in need."

One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson both featured on the single, as well as The Who's Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend and acclaimed grime rapper Stormzy.

Leona Lewis, James Blunt, Lily Allen, Craig David and Labrinth were among some of the other big names to feature on the track.
