Ryan Grassley posted an image of the bill he and his wife received for their sons delivery. All up, the bill came to $1,626 (USD) and included a
$39.35 (USD) charge for ‘skin to skin’ contact after his wife’s c-section.
The father said that the charge was in reference to him holding his baby right after the delivery.
The hospital explained that skin to skin contact involved having extra nurses in the room to make it safer for the new-born, so the charge reflects that.
The bill has started a lot of discussion online, with some users labeling the cost ‘fair and reasonable’ with others arguing that it 'should be free and it’s
ridiculous it’s not,'
