A recent study from the Liverpool, Manchester and Southhampton Universities has found that having pets is great for our mental well being!
"Our review suggests that pets provide benefits to those with mental health conditions," says one of the lead researchers.
"Further research is required to test the nature and extent of this relationship, incorporating outcomes that cover the range of roles and types of support pets confer in relation to mental health and the means by which these can be incorporated into the mainstay of support for people experiencing a mental health problem."
They also point out that having a pet is a huge help in reducing stress and will lead to a be better quality life.
So if you don't have a fur baby already, it might be time to add one to the family ASAP!
