Taika Waititi to host the 50th Vodafone NZ Music Awards

It's the 50th year of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, and NZ's award winning film director, writer, actor and comedian Taika Waititi has been announced as this year's host.

Taika Waititi is returning home to New Zealand from directing his latest film in Hawaii to host this year’s landmark show.
With his trademark charm and humour, Taika says of the awards, "I'm really excited at being given this opportunity to read out a list of sponsors in front of thousands of people and rub shoulders with some of New Zealand's most talented people who also do music”.
For the first time this year, the awards will be broadcast live on TV3.
The 50th annual Recorded Music NZ Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards ceremony is at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Thursday 19 November.
