The Royal New Zealand Ballet presents Bold Moves - and we have your tickets to be there! Keep listening to win your double pass.
This winter choreographers from three continents will share New Zealand stages, mixing things up with bright colours, modern infused classical music and perfect pointe work - in the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s new mixed bill production, Bold Moves.
With works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe and Andrea Schermoly the stage will be flooded with colour and light!
Conceived in 1934 George Balanchine’s Serenade is one of the few ballets that can truly be held iconic. 26 dancers are transported by Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, moving through time and space in perfect patterns.
William Forsythe’s Artifact II: bright colours, Bach spliced with electronica, and a larger than life American athleticism.
These two iconic works bookend a powerful new commission by Andrea Schermoly: Stand to Reason. Drama, drive, pulsating beauty – movement inspired by the tenacity of the bold women who won the vote.
Eclectic dance works stretching across eight decades, each capturing the zeitgeist of their time through bold and boundary-defying choreography. Grasp this rare opportunity to see landmark international works on stage in New Zealand.
