Wellington Postponements & Cancellations


Below is a list of cancelled and postponed events in the Wellington Region. This list will continue to be updated as the COVID-19 situation develops.

  • Wellington City Council facilities - MOST CLOSED
    Most services and facilities will be closed from 21 March 2020 until further notice, except for the Zoo and Zealandia which are open but with limited services.
  • Hutt City Council community facilities - CLOSED
    Facilities will be closed from Sunday 22 March, and will include libraries, swimming pools, community hubs, museums, sports facilities, and community centres.
  • Te Papa Museum - CLOSED
    The museum has been closed to the public. This decision will be reviewed in two weeks.
  • CubaDupa - CANCELLED
  • Night Noodle Markets - CANCELLED
  • Wellington Night Markets - CANCELLED
  • NZ International Comedy Festival - CANCELLED
  • ANZ Netball Premiership - POSTPONED
    Rounds 2 and 3 of the ANZ Premiership have been cancelled, putting the tournament on hold for two weeks.
  • Armageddon Expo - POSTPONED
    "Wellington Armageddon has been postponed to August 1st/2nd 2020 at Sky Stadium."
  • Highball - POSTPONED
    "The postponement is regrettable but it’s the firm intention to run Highball on the new dates of 9 & 10 October 2020."
  • Beervana - POSTPONED
    Postponed from August until November 13 & 14.
  • Relay for Life - POSTPONED
    All Relay for Life events between now and April 6th have been postponed. A new date will be announced shortly.
  • Jim Beam Homegrown - POSTPONED
    "We are devastated and are looking at all options as to how we move forward. We will be postponing but as you can imagine the logistics of that are huge and we need to wait on Government advice for dates."
  • Round the Vines - POSTPONED
    "We will actively monitor the Government’s guidance on public events and large gatherings before confirming the postponement date. Updates will be posted on our website, Facebook page."
  • Hurricanes Super Rugby - SUSPENDED
    The Super Rugby season has been suspended for the foreseeable future. SANZAAR will look to resume the tournament in coming weeks if possible.
  • Wellington Phoenix FC - TBC
    No further games will be played in Wellington. It is still yet to be confirmed how the rest of the A-League season will be played.
