People eat salads. People eat cakes. But would you eat it together?
The latest food trend to come out of Japan are salad cakes. The dishes are designed to make vegetables and salad more appealing, and while they look like a standard cake on the outside, you'll find layers of vegetable between "sponge cake" made of soy bean flour or rice.
And what's the icing? Either tofu or cream cheese mixed with vegetables.
The cakes promote themselves as low carb, low in sugar and gluten free.
