Masterchef NZ winner and co-founder of My Food Bag, Nadia Lim, has given birth to a baby boy. This is the first child for the 30-year-old foodie and her husband Carlos Bagrie.
Lim took to her Facebook page yesterday to introduce her newborn son, Bodhi, whose name derives from the ancient Sanskrit language.
"Hey guys, I'd love to introduce you to someone...this is Bodhi!!!," she wrote. "Barely 24 hours old, he was born yesterday afternoon in the water, weighing in at 9 pounds 3 ounces. He's super chilled out and (as you'd expect) LOVES his food! Bodhi, mummy and daddy are doing great!”
She added: “I'd also like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU all for all your lovely messages, pep talks, encouragement and support.”
“Nadia did an absolutely incredible job with a natural delivery, she is in good health also,” her husband Carlos told Fairfax.
It’s been a busy few months for Lim, who launched her fifth cookbook What’s For Dinner last month. The home delivery business, My Food Bag - of which Lim and Bagrie are directors alongside Theresa Gattung, Kevin Roberts and husband and wife Cecilia and James Robinson – has grown by 25 per cent in the six weeks leading up to March and is now estimated to be worth a whopping $100 million dollars.
