Julia Roberts named the World's Most Beautiful Women 2017

Julia Roberts has been named PEOPLE's World's Most Beautiful Women for 2017, taking out the top honours for a record fifth time, 26 years after she was first on the cover of the special issue.

Roberts was 23 when she first made the cover in 1991, the year before she shot to superstardom in Pretty Women.

The Most Beautiful Woman in the World can't believe it's happened again, and spoke to PEOPLE saying "I am very flattered."

At 49, Roberts is now way ahead of the most successful Sexiest Man Alive, George Clooney, who has only graced the cover twice and she jokes that she will make sure he knows.

“I’m going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year.”
