It's a sad day for Married At First Sight fans as one of last season's favourite couples have announced they've split.
Simon McQuillan and Alene Khatcherian, who were one of the ten couples paired up on the Australian show, gave a shared statement to TheFIX last night.
“It was a difficult decision but we have decided to part ways,” the pair said. “We remain the greatest of friends and we will continue to be part of each others’ lives. We thank you for your privacy at this time.”
The couple had recently travelled to New Zealand to take part in a celebrity version of Family Feud, and had told media a month ago they were planning to move to the same city together and were already discussing the possibility of children.
This leaves the only surviving couple from the season as Nick Furphy and Sharon Marsh, who are currently living together in Melbourne.
