New Zealand is set to scorch again this week, as the hot weather continues.
On Wednesday, temperatures in several cities around the country peaked at over 30degC.
"It's been a warm week - pretty much right across New Zealand - with many spots climbing towards 30degC and there are some more hot days in store," MetService says.
"Warm temps and humidity remains over much of NZ for the next couple of days. Only the west and far south of the South Island fall below 20degC on Sunday as a series of fronts turn the flow southwest."
There is a chance that the increased moisture in the air will lead to periods of heavy rain around the South Island, starting on Friday.
The showers will then move up the country and hit the North Island on Sunday. However MetService says the high that is causing the warm weather is likely to stick around - adding humidity to the heat.
