Celebrities protest in black to say 'Time's Up' at the Golden Globes

The stars are making a stand to protest at this year's Golden Globes Awards.

Donning black dresses, black suits, and black pins, a 'Blackout' has been organised in partnership with Time's Up, a Hollywood initiative against sexual harassment and gender inequality.

The protest comes in the wake of the scores of sexual assault allegations against film industry mogul Harvey Weinstein and the subsequent #MeToo campaign.

Saoirse Ronan, nominated for Best Comedy Actress for her role in Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird, says she plans to wear black to the ceremony.

"It's a total message of solidarity and support, community within our industry and also letting other women in other industries know that they have our support too."

Actress and model Cara Delevingne has also shared a collection of images about the meaning of the Time's Up campaign.

However, those celebrities who have not put on black have faced their own backlash on social media, including actress Blanca Blanco.

Have a look at some of the celebrities who are wearing black at today's Golden Globes:

Singer Justin Timberlake and 'The Sinner' actress Jessica Biel
