Kensington Palace has released photos of Princess Charlotte beginning her first day of school.
The two-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has enrolled in the Willcocks Nursery School in London.
The photos of the smiling girl, wearing a burgundy coat and a pink scarf, were taken by her mother, Kate Middleton.
It costs £3050 (NZ$5834) per term to send a child to the morning school, with all-female staff.
It has been described by other parents as a "kind and gentle" centre, The Telegraph reports.
After attending a short "stay and play" session, according to the nursery's website, the royal couple will be encouraged to leave their two-year-old to see how she reacts.
The morning school currently has 32 students.
Princess Charlotte may also attend the afternoon school at £1800 (NZ$3440) per term - which follows a less structured, music and arts based curriculum.
Four-year-old Prince George is expected to also return to school this week.
The family is expecting their third child in April.
