Star Wars star Mark Hamill impresses fans with his Te Reo Maori skills

Star Wars fans are ecstatic and pleased after iconic 'may the force be with you' phrase was translated into te reo Māori by Mark Hamill.

Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the film series, was asked by a Star Wars fan page if he could translate the phrase into - and he didn't fail to deliver.

The Māori translation of the phrase reads: "Kia kaha te kaha ki a koe!"

Hamill's translation sent people into overdrive sharing their love for the star.

The fan page who originally asked for the translation replied: "It sounds beautiful in Māori also...Thank you so much!"

"Well, you won't have to buy a beer next time you're in New Zealand, Mr Hamill! When are you coming for a visit, by the way?" one person said.

While another said: "Thank you Mark <3 That brought a tear to my eye /<patriotickiwi>."

The tweet has since been liked by thousands of followers.
