Ashton Kutcher left Ellen DeGeneres speechless when he surprised her with a US$4 Million donation to her wildlife fund live on TV.
DeGeneres' wife Portia De Rossi set up The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund as a present for the comedian's 60th birthday.
Kutcher, along with Hollywood manager Guy Oseary, made an unannounced appearance on the show this week, where they talked about why they wanted to get involved.
"You never ask anyone for help, ever," Kutcher said, referencing a time the talk show host had mentioned her new charity to him.
"You're always thinking about everyone else and we wanted to show you that people are thinking about you."
Oseary and Kutcher explained they were working with a money-transfer company called Ripple as part of their tech investment ventures - then they dropped the bombshell.
"So, on behalf of Ripple, we'd like to give you $4 million."
DeGeneres was astonished, fighting back tears and unable to speak.
Kutcher then brought up the Ripple app on his phone, asking the host if she'd like to push the button to instantly transfer the funds to her account.
"I'd like to push it real good," she answered.
Eventually, DeGeneres was able to recover enough to thank the pair.
"Oh my God, that was the most amazing thing," she said. "I love you both so much, you know that."
Still shocked, she stammered: "I don't know what day it is!" while signing-off at the end of the show.
