Great news for fans of The Greatest Showman, the biggest musical movie of the summer is set to be turned into a live stage show... So one day soon you might be able to see the 'greatest show' in person!
While there are no current plans for a sequel, rumours from Cannes Film Festival point to a live version being in the early stages of development.
Speaking to Forbes, star of the film Hugh Jackman said "we were talking about a live version of the show even before [the film] came out."
"There was a discussion at one point in the eight-year journey of this movie of maybe going live first."
He seemingly has no reservations about the concept either, in the same interview he recalled an early session where one of his co-stars tested out the script and songs from the film...
"When Keala Settle got up, stood in the middle of a room and sang This Is Me with no makeup, no nothing, no anything, there was not a dry eye in the house. The musical really works live."
Fingers crossed we will see the show on NZ shores when it finally happens!
