Canadian singer Michael Bublé has opened up for the first time about his son Noah's battle with cancer, saying that he almost gave up music because of it.
The singer’s four-year-old son was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer in 2016, forcing Michael and his actress wife Luisana Lopilato to temporarily step away from their careers to care for their eldest.
Talking to the Herald Sun, Michael said talking about the "whole story" still "hurts too much."
I truly thought I’d never come back to music. Family is what matters. The health of my children is No.1.
The father praised his strong son but was emotional about the journey they had to go through as a family.
"He’s a superhero, he doesn’t need to relive it over and again. But I’ve been to hell. And you know what, hell seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where we’ve been."
Noah is expected to make a full recovery now, and the couple, who also have two-year-old son Elias together, are now expecting their first daughter.
Telling Irish radio station Today FM: “I’ve got my first little girl coming in three weeks, and I’ve actually never said that before in public. I’ve got a daughter coming.”
