Dame Valerie Adams has announced her second child will be a boy.
The 34-year-old dual Olympic shot put champion confirmed in October she was expecting her second child by posting a photo of her one-year-old daughter, Kimoana, holding a sign saying: "I'm going to be a sister."
In her latest Instagram post, Adams posted photos of a delighted Kimoana holding a sign that reads: "Baby bro is on the way."
Dame Valerie's post consisted of emojis for family and hearts, and garnered thousands of likes within minutes.
The baby is expected to be born in April.
Adams' journey to becoming a mother has been challenging . She spoke to The Project in September about how she and husband Garbiel Price had struggled to conceive.
"I think people underestimate just how hard fertility is," she told Kanoa Lloyd. "I guess some women take it for granted.
"Our wants were there, but nothing was happening."
