In a recent interview with BBC Radio 2 in the UK Ed Sheeran has confirmed his plans to take another extended break from music.
The popular singer said that once he's completed his world tour he'll be taking a bit of time out before coming out with any new music.
"I’ve got things coming out, I don’t know if they’re albums. But I’ve got things coming out. The next 'album album' won’t be for a while." he said in the interview.
"After this, September is the end of tour next year, then I’m going to do another blackout and go away for a year."
"It worked last time for both me and the public, I think it’s good to have a little break. The next album, no earlier than 2020. Late 2020."
Earlier on this year Ed did say that his new music won't be his traditional 'pop' and will most likely be a very different sound for the singer.
So while it's exciting that Ed has other projects on the go, superfans might be upset they have to wait until 2020 at the earliest for new music from Ed.
