One of the rings that were used in a Married At First NZ wedding, has been put up for auction on Trademe - but for a good cause.
One of the brides, Monique Lee who is a teacher in Christchurch, has put the ring used in her wedding to Fraser Pearce up for sale to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation and project Growing Up.
The ring is a nine-carat white gold piece with 0.15-carat diamond worth $1950.
The ring is currently fetching over $700 and Monique has promised that the ring used from her unsuccessful wedding will not be unlucky "as it was mostly worn as a friendship ring."
She also promised that if you are the lucky winner of the ring when the auction closes that "you can claim that you are the most selfless person ever by donating the largest amount to very worthwhile cause" and that if you are from either Christchurch or Auckland she would be willing to meet up to "spill all the MAFS tea".
