One of the most successful and highest paid talk show hosts in the world, Ellen DeGeneres, is thinking about quitting her day time show!
In a recent interview with The New York Post, both Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi spoke about Ellen's time on the show - which she's been hosting for 16 years!
"I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity," Portia said. "There are other things she could tackle. I don’t see the end of her show as her career ending."
Ellen is currently contracted to do her TV show until 2020, but reports suggest Portia is encouraging Ellen to try something different when her contract expires.
Speaking about her upcoming Netflix comedy show, Ellen said "I wanted to show all of me."
"The talk show is me, but I’m also playing a character of a talk-show host. There’s a tiny, tiny bit of difference."
Portia continued by saying the Ellen we see on TV is different to the Ellen that she sees every day. "She’s just a bit more complicated than she appears on the show," she said.
We're sure whatever Ellen decides to do next she'll still bring a lot of joy to the world!
