Any mum knows just how lonely the nights can be in the first few months and beyond, the long nights becoming both exhausting and isolating.
Lifestyle blogger Ruth Crilly struggled with loneliness herself after the birth of her second baby, so she decided to do something to help out new mums going through the same thing - a new app called 'The Night Feed'.
'The Night Feed' offers help, advice and connects mums, including exclusive content from Ruth herself as well as talks from paediatricians, Q&As with midwives and stylists' guide to the best breastfeeding-friendly clothes on the market.
The app also features a feed tracker, which lets mums note the time and length of each feed with how much was given.
A sleep sound feature is included to help calm and soothe babies (and mums for that matter) back to sleep, as well as opportunities for users to connect via messaging, comments, and questions on articles.
"The idea for The Night Feed came to me when I was feeding my second baby through the night, which is now over two years ago. I found my second baby harder; I felt more alone and isolated, I was more tired and I really struggled to stay awake throughout the feeds," explained Ruth.
"I longed for somewhere to go through the night, where there would be people just like me – knackered and overwhelmed but still retaining a sense of humour. I wanted to chat with them, share my experiences with them and know I wasn’t alone,"
"From here The Night Feed was born, and I hope we can call together all the people who are lost in the darkness and help them find the light."
The app has been successful so far, reaching the number one spot on the App Store's Lifestyle chart in the UK, with one download every three minutes just days after the launch.
If you're struggling with the lonely nights yourself, you can grab the app now, available for $6.99 on the App Store.
