The original line up of the iconic children's entertainment group The Wiggles are reuniting to raise money for the victims of Australia's bushfire crisis.

On Monday the group announced it would perform the one-off show with its original members - Greg Page, Murray Cook, Anthony Field and Jeff Fatt. It will be the first time the group has performed together since 2012.

The original Wiggles disbanded in mid-2012 with Fields staying on to perform with newcomers Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce.

The announcement of the 18-plus show has caused a storm on social media, with fans hoping to hear some of the classic original Wiggles tunes from their childhoods, such as Hot Potatoes, Big Red Car and of course Fruit Salad.

A Facebook post announcing the show has received more than 40,000 comments in less than 24 hours.

All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Australian Red Cross and New South Wales Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service.
