International Women's Day for us in New Zealand was on Sunday, but the day has just arrived in the United States.
To mark the occasion, pink has given a shoutout to some amazing women on her Instagram account...
"On #InternationalWomensDay, thinking back to all of the amazing women health workers, community mobilizers and UNICEF staff I met when I traveled to Haiti with UNICEF." the singer wrote.
"There’s a special place in my heart for heroes like Carine Flerismond, a UNICEF Haiti nutrition officer who has been saving lives for more than 15 years."
"After the 2010 earthquake, she remembers UNICEF providing financial aid to a woman, who was then able to start selling chestnuts. 'A few months later, she hired three women. Today she has her own shop,' says Carine. 'This makes me proud to be humanitarian.' Let’s hear it for women empowering other women."
As well as that poweful message, the singer also shared a photo of herself alongside her two kids with the simple caption "strong women; may we know them, may we raise them, may we be them."
Pink's fans were quick to praise her positive messages and we tend to agree with them!
