Actress Anne Hathaway has previously added fuel to the fire when it comes to a third installment of the popular Princess Diaries films - now her co-star Julie Andrews has also waded in!

The last film came out in 2004 and since then, fans have been hoping for a return to the fictional kingdom Genovia.

In a recent interview, Julie Andrews spoke about her willingness to return to the role of 'Queen Clarisse Renaldi'.

"I heard that there might be one. It’s long been talked about but nothing sort of been on my desk or anything like that. I think I would." she told US TV show 'The Talk'.

"I’m getting awfully old and crotchety. I’m not sure if it’s the right timing, but I think to work with Annie would be lovely again, and sure I’d be up for it."

"I think we should wait for—if a script comes in, let’s wait for that. Of course, we wouldn’t have the wonderful Gary Marshall who was the director. He’s passed. And he was really the nuts and bolts of it all,” she admitted."

Fingers crossed we see this one our screens sometime soon!
