Blockaholics and dance fanatics will have to wait for their fix as Three announced their plans to reschedule the show for the 2021 TV season.
The recent lockdown levels have affected the production of both TV shows, which were planned to be aired this year.
Director of TV Content Ben Quinn said The Block NZ would join DWTS NZ in being postponed until 2021, having been on hold since the end of March.
"These significant time delays combined with the high level of uncertainty in the coming months for all stakeholders means we simply cannot commit to a typical production schedule," Quinn said in a statement.
“While this is a difficult decision, it is the right one in order to protect our business partners and brands."
However, plans are already underway for contestants of The Block NZ to continue again on the same properties next year when production can resume.
Dancing with the Stars NZ will also plan to return in 2021, keeping a mystery over who the potential contenders could be for next year.
Some old favourites will still return on Three this year, including Grand Designs NZ, Westside, Golden Boy, Mean Mums, and two brand new shows Head High and Toke.
