Exciting news for fans of Netflix's hit series 'The Crown' - we're getting another season!

The hit drama follows the life and times of the royal family. Originally set for 6 seasons, the creator Peter Morgan changed his mind and made it 5, but has since changed his mind again!

"As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons." he tolde Deadline.

"To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day — it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail."

The sixth season will take us up to the early 2000s, meaning we won't see the drama of recent years play out on TV.

Actress Imelda Staunton will play Queen Elizabeth for seasons 5 and 6. Olivia Colman will reprise her role for season 4 which currently has no release day.
