This year's season of Grey's Anatomy is going to be a wild one.
Out of the current cast of Grey's Anatomy - only three stars are from the original first season: Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr.
But one major character of Grey's is making a special return for one episode.
But we're warning you - this is a big spoiler for the upcoming season!
Are you ready?
McDreamy himself, Derek Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey) is making an appearance on episode 3 of Season 17.
In a teaser played to the US this week, Dr Meredith Grey looked to potentially be infected with COVID-19, and in a moment passed out, she has a vision of her late husband, Derek.
"The most important task we had this season was to honour the reality of this global pandemic and the impact it's having – particularly on healthcare workers," showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement after Thursday's episode aired.
"Along with that we had to come up with creative ways to allow our show to still be fun and romantic and provide some escapism. Enter Patrick Dempsey.
"The beach motif – which will continue beyond the premiere – provided a way for us to live outside the pandemic even for a little while here and there. And Derek's return provided pure joy for us, for Meredith, and for the fans."
According to the showrunner, Patrick Dempsey's return was done in secret to avoid spoilers being leaked, with most actors, and even some writers unaware of his return.
For Grey's fans, this will definitely be a moment to watch!
