Forget being the Duke, because Regé-Jean Page could have his eyes set on bigger roles.
Following news that Regé-Jean Page will not be in the second season of Bridgerton, speculation is growing that he may actually play the next James Bond.
According to bookies company Coral, Regé-Jean Page has become the clear favourite to star as 007, with odds of playing Bond at 5-2.
Actors Tom Hardy and James Norton are tied second for odds on 3-1, and Idris Elba and Henry Cavill are also top contenders for the big role.
Speaking on the speculation himself, Regé-Jean Page was very covert.
“Ah, the B word. I think that if you are British and you do anything of note, that other people take notice of, then people will start talking about that.”
The 31-year-old added: “I think that’s fairly normal and I’m flattered to be in the category of Brits that people have noticed.”
But on the role? “Nothing more – or less – than that.”
The current James Bond, Daniel Craig, has been playing the character for five films and is retiring after 'No Time To Die' is released later this year. So it may be a while before we find out who truly will be "Bond, James Bond."
