It turns out that your hangovers have aged just as well as fine wine, according to a new study published in the Alcoholism and Alcohol journal.

The study revealed that young drinkers tend to consume more alcohol than older drinkers, which wasn’t too much of a surprise. What was surprising was that hangovers tend to get easier as people age! They found that as work and family responsibilities increase, the frequency of negative hangover effects decrease.

“Hangover severity declines with age, even after controlling for eBAC or the amount of alcohol consumed. The relationship between age and hangover severity is strongly mediated by subjective intoxication. Pain sensitivity, lower with aging, might be a mediator”

It also mentioned that how drunk you feel will greatly suggest how hungover you’ll be the next day. So make sure to remember that the next time you pick up a glass of wine after dinner!

You might want to treat yourself after hearing this great news but make sure to drink in moderation. Just because your hangover isn’t as severe as it used to be, doesn’t mean that it won’t hurt!
