Following her passionate plea to be removed from her father's conservatorship, Britney Spears has posted a message to her fans, friends and #FreeBritney activists who have supported her.

The singer took to social media and posted a quote about fairytales to Instagram with the following caption, explaining the way she's posted on Instagram has made it seem like her life "seems to look and be pretty amazing" when it has been far from it.

"I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years … I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture there Instagram in a fun light 💡🤷🏼‍♀️ !!!! Believe it or not pretending that I’m ok has actually helped," she shared.

"So I decided to post this quote today because by golly if you’re going through hell … I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence … existence … and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked."

Celebrities have been rallying behind the star following her shocking claims, which had included her team forcing her on lithium medication, denying her the ability to choose her own therapist or lawyer, and not giving her the right to remove a IUD without her "team's" approval.

Fellow singer Mariah Carey posted to Twitter "We love you Britney!!! Stay strong ❤️❤️❤️", ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake asked for people to be "supporting Britney at this time", while even controversial TV host Piers morgan was shocked by Britney's state.

“It almost defies belief that any woman in America, the world’s great superpower and supposedly ‘land of the free’, should be subjected to such appalling treatment,” he wrote in a column for the Daily Mail.

“It was stunning to hear the brutal reality from Britney’s own mouth, in her own powerful, eloquent, often rapid-fire words. It was like she couldn’t wait to finally have her say, and who could blame her for the obvious frustration and anger?”
