Snap your fingers for this - the infamous Addams Family is returning for a new Netflix series, with original 90's Addams Family actress Christina Ricci said to be part of the new show!

While Christina Ricci starred as Wednesday Addams in the 1990s film franchise, the new Netflix series will see 19-year-old 'Yes Day' actress Jenna Ortega star as Wednesday.

Details around Christina Ricci's role are being kept a secret for fans, but rumours from Deadline say that she'll be playing a new character, and not an older version of Wednesday Addams.

The eight-episode series will be directed by Tim Burton, and has been described as "a sleuthing, supernaturally-infused mystery" starring Wednesday as a student from Nevermore Academy.

"Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."

Other actors said to be tied to the new Netflix project include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems.

The new show is yet to have a release date, but fans are already buzzing for the news!
