Owe It All To You is Amila's breakout single onto the New Zealand music scene. The 17-year old Auckland-based artist of Chilean descent, first single is a buoyant pop song of familial love and thanks, driven by a rhythmically finger-picked guitar and Amila’s crystalline voice which moves fluidly between English and Spanish in the verses.
“I wanted to sing in Spanish because it's my first language and it's special to me,” she says. “And because the song is about my parents, I wanted half of it to be in their language – I like having both of my cultures in my music, so the sounds in Spanish music are a big influence.”
