Only months ago, Luca George was still a year 13 student at Mt Aspiring College in beautiful Wanaka, New Zealand. Today he has a hit single, 'Lonely Tonight', that has seen huge success already.

Where do you call home?

I have lived in Wanaka for the last 7 years of my life but I have recently moved to Wellington to study a Bachelor of Commercial Music at Massey University.

What inspired your song 'Lonely Tonight'?

Lonely Tonight was created when I arrived in Wellington for the first time ever. I had never been left alone in such a large and beautiful city before. Lonely Tonight was inspired by the idea of enjoying your own company in a hotel room by yourself. I wanted to write a song that would make people get up and have a little dance, whether they're alone or not.

What's your proudest musical moment?

So far, my journey of being a writer, singer, and performer has been “dream-like”. After releasing my debut single Lonely Tonight - after only 7 days it charted at number 3 on the HOT 20 NZ SINGLES chart. It also charted 21 on the HOT 40 SINGLES chart on the same day!

What's a Kiwi song you're loving at the moment?

I am loving an artist called TEEKS at the moment. One of my favorite songs of his is called “Waves”. He has one of the purest, most beautiful voices I have ever come across.

What's one artist you would love to collaborate with?

In the future, I would love to collaborate with Dua Lipa. I love how she is able to get people up and off of their seats and boogie. I would also love to do a song with Sam Smith or Harry Styles. I reckon we could write some bangers!
