Canterbury name strong Mitre 10 Cup side to regain Premiership title

Canterbury will be looking to regain the Premiership after last years tough lost to Auckland in extra time. Head coach Joe Maddock will have one last ride with the team before he heads off to Japan after this year's competition. He has named his 2019 side for the Mitre 10 Cup season which includes 7 new Canterbury squad members and 9 All Blacks.

The side is to be captained by Luke Whitelock one last time before he heads off shore to play his rugby in France. The team gains some experience by getting Crusaders Michael Alaalatoa and Tim Bateman into the side.

Canterbury starts it’s season against Waikato on August 10th in Hamilton where all eyes will be on the side as they look to add to the legacy of Canterbury Rugby.
