Prince George is about to start his schooling journey, but a rule that’s in place at the private school he’s set to attend has sparked discussion online. The school is on a mission to ‘ban’ best friends.
The school’s website says how the most important rule is to "be kind".
"Whilst we are proud of our record of senior school entrance and scholarship successes, we place a greater emphasis on a set of core values, which include kindness, courtesy, confidence, humility and learning to be givers, not takers."
One of the head teachers has said how the school hopes to encourage having ‘lots of good friends’ rather than one best friend, in an effort to avoid hurt feelings from other students.
The school's rules are similar to views expressed by Kate & William in the past.
"My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realise how central values like these have been to me throughout my life.
"That is why William and I want to teach our little children, George and Charlotte, just how important these things are as they grow up.
"In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport."
Do you think the school’s stance is fair? Or are they being over protective?
