This Dad has gone viral online after wetting his own trousers with water to help save his daughter from embarrassment.
We all know that from time to time, kids have a little 'accident' which can potentially be a bit humiliating. Ben Sowards' daughter had one of those 'accidents' while at kindy, so to make her feel better he poured water on his pants and proceeded to pick her up from school.
Ben's other daughter uploaded pics of her dad which have since gone viral with hundreds of thousands of shares.
'My little sis had an accident today at kindergarten & this is how my dad left to pick her up so she wouldn't feel so sad/embarrassed 😂😂❤️' the caption read.
Ben received some positive feedback for his gesture 'that's called being a great father. I did the same thing, before,' one Twitter user said.
'That makes me tear up, what a thoughtful and kind way to help her' added another.
But others looked at it from a different lens, saying that the Dad risked creating even more embarrassment for his daughter, with one person adding that he needed to 'think things through more' before doing a thing like this again.
Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine, Ben said It was a gut reaction. I wanted to demonstrate in a clear way that I love my child and it didn't matter to me that she'd peed her pants. I knew that "wetting" my own pants would cheer her up and help her to handle the embarrassment.'
