A mum has shared a personal and touching message that she wrote for her children ahead of Mother's Day.
The open letter has really resonated with parents all over the world and has been shared thousands of times online...
"To my dear children,' the letter begins...
"Six years ago I found out I was pregnant and was changed forever. I want to take a moment to tell you how you have improved my life.
So, thank you.....
For giving me the greatest gift in the world, being your mother. A gift that I am all too aware is not given to everyone who wants it and for this I am eternally grateful
For allowing me to experience the incredible power of giving and receiving unconditional love.
For challenging me mentally, emotionally and physically every single day. I am stronger for it.
For forcing me to confront and acknowledge my strengths, weaknesses and flaws. You make me want to be better in every way while also loving me exactly as I am. I am learning to change the things I don't like and accept the things I can't change.
For making me want to face my fears and try new things. I want to show you how to be brave and to face challenges head on.
For giving me the gift of the motherhood tribe. These women are strong, brave, kind, loving and resilient. They have your back when you need them and they will do anything for each other. I have met the most incredible women since becoming a mother and I feel blessed to have them in my life.
For forcing me to slow down and enjoy the small joys in life. Everything is new and wondrous to you both and I have loved looking at the world through your eyes
For pushing your daddy and me to our limits and giving me the security in knowing that we can face challenges and go through hard times and still come out the other side together. Our marriage is stronger because we have you.
For teaching me how to accept people as they are. To treat everyone with respect and kindness. I suppose I have taught you this however in teaching you, I have been learning too.
So, my beautiful girls. I love you more than I ever thought it was possible to love anything. Thank you for giving me the gift of being your mother.
