Most people love some chocolate milk every now and then, but have you given much thought as to where it comes from? Probably not, because it seems fairly obvious!
That's not the case for millions of Americans however, a recent study has shown some staggering results... 7% of Americans think that chocolate milk comes from brown cows.
“At the end of the day, it’s an exposure issue,” one of the researchers said.
“Right now, we’re conditioned to think that if you need food, you go to the store. Nothing in our educational framework teaches kids where food comes from before that point.”
“We still get kids who are surprised that a French fry comes from a potato, or that a pickle is a cucumber,” she added.
“Knowledge is power. Without it, we can’t make informed decisions.”
