A new study has shown that sleeping in on the weekends is linked to weight loss.
One of the researchers says that a lack of sleep can lead to an increased risk of weight related medical conditions. The study looked at 2000 people's sleeping patterns and then compared the hours of sleep they had to their BMI - the results showed that those who slept more had lower BMI's.
While BMI's are important, they do not give a complete picture of health - so while having a lowered BMI is a good thing, that's not to say you can shed some weight just by sleeping in a bit longer - diet and exercise are still key!
So next time you feel a little bit of guilt for sleeping in... Don't!
