For the last few years, a Californian fair has been home to the 'World's Ugliest Dog Competition'. This year the 'winner' was a 9 year old English Bulldog named Zsa Zsa.
The competition has been running for a few years now, but it seems this year people have had enough, with many calling the entire concept 'cruel' and 'mean'...
Critics of the competition have taken to online forums to express their disgust at the concept. Many arguing that judging a dog based on their looks isn't fair or appropriate.
"How cruel, I've seen uglier humans!" one woman wrote. "Without a Doubt. All doggies are beautiful never Ugly." another replied.
Someone else pointed out that beauty is more than skin deep. "There's more to beauty than looks. In my eyes, Zsa Zsa is the prettiest pupper ever."
But on the flipside, some simply see it as a bit of harmless fun and suggest others need to lighten up a bit.
Do you think the contest is appropriate or not?
