With the upcoming Summer season comes the races. With the Melbourne Cup fast approaching, the Christchurch Cup & Show week and other various race meets around the country, it can be fun dressing up, but expensive by the time you find yourself a nice dress and a fascinator.

One mum has used her DIY skills to turn one of Kmart's staple dinnerware items into a fascinator fit to win Fashion In The Field!

Using a cheap black round placemat from Kmart, Anne-Marie folded and twisted the placemat until it was in a shape that could fit her head, and then she added a black flower and some net fabric (also from Kmart) to the headpiece, gluing it all down. The total cost for the whole project was just under $5!

We think it looks fabulous!
