The world's largest furniture retailer since at 2008, IKEA, has announced it's plans to open up shop on NZ soil. IKEA is a Swedish-founded multinational group that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories, among other useful goods and home services.
Tolga Öncü, Retail Operations Manager, Ingka Group (owners of IKEA) said: “We are happy to meet the wish from many people for IKEA to open in New Zealand and we aim to make IKEA fully accessible, including stores and ecommerce. We see this as a long-term commitment and investment in New Zealand, building relationships with customers, suppliers and future co-workers.”
Currently the Ingka Group operates IKEA in 30 markets worldwide. This includes online and 367 stores.
It is expected we will hear more about IKEA's move into our country in 2019.
