A woman’s expectation of her absent wedding guests has seen her be labelled as a ‘bridezilla’ by the internet.
In an anonymous post on Reddit, the bride to be declared that “if you’re invited to a wedding and you can’t attend, you’re still supposed to send a card.
“Especially if you have a BS excuse to miss it… If you can’t come to the wedding, you still owe them a gift”
As you can imagine, the reaction to the bride’s comments has been huge.
“You are NOT required to send a card or gift if you're NOT attending.” one person wrote. “Send in your RSVP saying you're not attending is all that's required. Anyone who bugs you about not sending a gift has no manners, no class, and is not a true friend!”
“One of my favorite quotes from Miss Manners is ‘A wedding invitation is not an invoice’. Looks like not everyone understands that.” wrote another.
Someone else simply stated that “You are NOT required to send a card or gift if you're NOT attending.”
Despite the strong response, there were a few people who agreed with the bride. What do you think, should you send a wedding gift if you are unable to attend a wedding?
