It's hard to comprehend, but next year is only around the corner, and after what has happened this year, it will be great to improve ourselves in 2021.
With that being said, we also need to accept that it's very unlikely we met any of our 2020 goals - and one comedian summed it up perfectly when she rediscovered hers.
Written prior to the word 'pandemic' thrown around, American comedian Robyn Schall's list of resolutions was everything you basically couldn't do this year.
Pouring herself a glass of wine, she prompts the audience "tell me this isn't hilarious" as she reads her list.
"'Goal one: make more money'. Erm, well I've been unemployed since March," she starts.
"'Travel more.' 'Lose weight'. 'Be more social'", she says as she begins to fall into a fit of laughter.
"'Cry less'. Cry less? I've cried every single day of this whole pandemic."
And to top it off? "'Spend more time with my grandma'. And she died!" she adds in a fit of dark humour.
As tragic as not meeting any of her goals sound, it's not hard to see the comedy in how ironic this list was. And millions of views on TikTok would agree!
It's that rock bottom laugh for me," wrote one commenter.
"You know something has gone seriously wrong in the world when we're all out here cry-laughing our way to the finish line of 2020," said another person.
One TikTok user begged the comedian to "not make a 2021 list," to which she responded, "I blame my list for 2020."
