Joe Moruzzi and his staff were having a casual debate about whether chocolate melts in the microwave or not and they were shocked to discover that Flakes don’t melt!
Moruzzi decided to get two chocolate bars, a Flake and a Cadbury Caramel. Both were placed into the microwave for 30 seconds and the caramel melted all over the plate however the Flake was completely fine!
According to Sciencefocus.com, the Flake doesn’t melt due to the way its manufactured,
"Although Flake is made from milk chocolate, the manufacturing process gives it a different arrangement of fat and cocoa solids, so the melting fat isn’t able to lubricate the cocoa particles to the point where they can flow.
"In a bain-marie, a Flake will never melt. In the microwave, it eventually just burns."
